Major salivary glands are paired glands that are responsible for producing saliva which drain into the mouth through small tubes called ducts.

Neck lumps or masses are extremely common, and they have numerous possible causes. They may arise from the skin or from structures underneath. The tendency on finding a lump is to worry that it might be cancer. Thankfully, the vast majority of neck lumps are not cancerous, particularly in children and younger adults.

In medical parlance, these refer to a range of tumors arising from organs located below the brain to the level of the collar bone in the neck. Within this anatomical region, the majority of patients whom I treat tend to present with diseases arising from the face, nose, oral cavity, throat, salivary glands and neck structures such as the throat, thyroid, parathyroid and lymphatic tissue.
