Submandibular Gland Swelling: Sialadenitis, Stones and Tumours

Submandibular gland swelling is usually caused by a blocked duct, a salivary stone or an infection and often settles with hydration, warm compresses or antibiotics. A lump that is hard, painless or persistent should be assessed by a specialist to rule out a tumour.
